When cancer returned to Donna Mann’s life, she decided she would not wait for the loss of hair that comes with Chemotherapy – she decided to shave it and husband Andrew has joined in!
In doing so Donna also decided to turn her ‘shaving’ into an event to raise funds for Cancer Care Centre. Little did Donna know how this event would grow. More than a dozen people shaved their heads, while many other supporters paid to have their hair coloured pink. Donna’s cousin flew over from New Zealand for the occasion.
Donna’s efforts and the generosity of her supporters are overwhelming.
With the help of local organisations, Donna and her supporters raised over $6,100 and the Centre is enormously grateful and appreciative of not only the funds raised but also her efforts to bring awareness of Cancer Care Centre to the public.
Lisa Pahl of The Courier newspaper kindly edited an article of Donna’s quest in that paper and the Centre has gained valuable publicity.
Donna’s efforts and the generosity of her supporters are overwhelming. We can’t thank them enough for their support.
